Beautiful. The minimalist presentation of negative space in this monochrome tale focuses on opposites and the perfect messiness of diversity. Black and white figure out how to coexist in a world that doesn’t seem to want them to exist at the same time, in the same place. By the end, they are begging for one more game, one more song, one more page.

THOUGHTS: This book is a wonderful addition to elementary libraries, classrooms, and homes alike. The art form, opposites, and inclusive nature of the story allow for many lesson adaptations and open doors to a variety of conversations for little and big minds.
